For the 8th time in Habitat for Humanity, Victoria’s history, ground has broken on at least one Women’s Build House.  As has become tradition since 2006, two homes are being built by the women of Victoria.  Leading the 2008 Women’s Build are Chair Holly Pickering and co-chairs Susan Cain and Mary Virginia Jacobs.

House 65 “The Angel’s House” in memory of Jan Kristi Vann is sponsored by Tina and James Wayne.   House 66 is co-sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, Margery and Robert Loeb, and Cheryl Baughman.  This marks the 12th year HFHV has partnered with Wells Fargo Bank.  Another tradition that is back are the Studfinders.  This group of amazing women sponsor at least one square foot of the house and volunteer on all available Mondays to build on these houses.

Heading into August, there are still opportunities to get in on the action.  The houses are currently being painted and this year, the houses will be clad in Hardie Plank siding.  Gather your posse and come try something new while helping move these homes closer to completion.  Groups dates are available with Le Anne at 573-2511 or leanne@victoriahabitat.org
