Meet the next set of HFHV Homeowners

House 56 – Johnson/Starkey House
Nancy Rodriguez
Nancy is a single mom with one son, David, age 18, and has cared for her nephew Jacob, age 19, since he was in the sixth grade. David also struggles with Muscular Dystrophy. He is in a motorized wheel chair. One of the struggles Nancy has faced is finding a rental property that can work into her budget that will also accommodate David’s wheelchair and other physical needs. Nancy’s nephew Jacob helps her with David’s care. She has been in the HFHV system for 2 years waiting on this property to be available. Nancy works for K & L Consulting.

House 57 – Wells Fargo
Henry and Becky Molina
Henry and Becky were approved for a HFHV home in August 2004. Henry works for the City of Victoria in the Sanitation Department and Becky is a stay-at-home mom. Their twin girls are Samantha and Faith, age 11. The Molina family lives a debt free life and has for some time. They are very faithful and active members of their church, Templo Jerusalem Baptist Church. Becky volunteers at the girls’ school. Henry and Becky have been fixtures on many houses over the last two years. It is a huge blessing to finally be working on their home.

House 58 – First Victoria
Virginia Kitchens
Virginia is so new to this system that today is the first time even some of us at HFHV have met her. She is a single mom to son, ReJean, age 9. In a divine coincidence, she also happens to work for First Victoria. She spends all of her time either working at FV, working out (she has lost 67 lbs.) or helping ReJean with homework…and she loves baking. She is a Victoria native who grew up with her grandparents.

House 59 - Holy Family Catholic Church
Becky Barfield
Becky Barfield is a single mother of 3, son Damain 14, and twin daughters Shawnte’ and Shanequa, 12. Becky has been employed with V.I.S.D. for 8 years and is Head Custodian at O’Connor Elementary School.

House 60 – Sparkman/Pickering House

Suzette Groth and son Donny, 8 were approved for a HFHV home in January 29, 2006. Suzette works at Retama Manor South as a Certified Nurses Aide.
