Building Materials
The ReStore accepts drop-offs of reusable building materials. Sales of the materials are utilized to fund Habitat homebuilding projects and to underwrite operating costs of the Victoria Habitat programs.

If you would like to drop off your building materials, you may do so at our ReStore, located at 1101 N. William Street. The ReStore is open to take your donations from 10am-5pm Tuesday through Friday and 9-noon on Saturday.

Vehicle Donations
If you have a used vehicle you would like to donate for a tax benefit, our ReStore is experienced in this procedure. 100% of the proceeds go to support the Habitat mission of building simple, decent housing in Victoria County. HFHV also accepts direct donations of late-model pickups to use as construction vehicles.

Changes in Tax Law: Up until the end of 2004, when donating a vehicle, the donor could deduct its "fair market value" from his or her federal income taxes (this still applies to fleet donations only). Starting on January 1, 2005, the donor is able to deduct the greater of $500.00 or the amount the charity sold the car for at retail or wholesale, less repair costs. Visit the IRS for tax information or visit a local library for forms. Use Publication 526 (donating property), or Publication 561 (valuing property). When filing, you will need to submit IRS Form 8283 for donated property.
